Exchange
The Exchange server is the premier e-mail and calendaring
solution for faculty and staff. The Exchange server
provides a complete groupware environment, including
integrated e-mail, appointments, tasks, contacts,
and public folders. You can use a variety of client
applications to access an Exchange account. Microsoft
Outlook for Windows, Entourage or Outlook via Citrix for Mac OS, Ximian Evolution
with Connector, and the online WebOutlook interface
provide
the most
functionality.
Important:- As of Monday, February 28, 2005: Due to critical shortage of storage space, the deleted item retention for Exchange mail was dropped from 14 days to 7 days. Additional storage is being configured.
-
Active Directory security was tightened on February 1, 2005 and, as a result, you can no longer access the Virginia Tech Exchange server using Outlook 2001 in Mac OS or an Outlook client in Windows 95/98/Me. For information on how you can access Exchange:
