VT Google Apps Mail issue

Google has notified Virginia Tech of a recent issue with VT Google Apps Mail that caused some actions you took while viewing a message (e.g. deleting a message, marking it as spam, or moving it to a folder) to be inadvertently applied to a different message. The issue occurred between January 15 and January 21.  The issue affected users’ actions only in Gmail for iOS, Gmail in a mobile browser, and Gmail Offline.  The issue is now fixed, but you must take action to re-file these messages on or before February 14, 2014.

 

WHAT TO DO NOW:

Check your Trash and Spam folders before February 14 for any items that you did not intend to delete or mark as spam. You can restore any misfiled messages by moving them back to your Inbox or intended folder.

 

Note that messages are permanently deleted 30 days after they’re placed in the Trash folder.

 

IMPORTANT:

Please move these messages from the Trash and Spam folders by February 14. Also, you may find messages in your Inbox that you originally intended for Trash, Spam or other folders, and will need to move these messages.
