PID Creation ProcessWhile using the PID Creation Tool, you will need to be sure to follow the format guidelines below when entering your information. After you enter the appropriate data in the PID Creaton online form, you will be given a choice of PIDs to choose from, or you may create your own. It will only take up to 5 minutes before your PID is activated. Within 10 minutes, you will be able to access Hokie SPA. Incoming StudentsYou should have received a letter in the mail concerning your PID. This letter will provide you with the correct information you need to create your PID. If you do not have your letter, contact either Undergraduate Admissions at (540) 231-6267 or the Graduate School at (540) 231-6691.
Important: Veterinary Medicine
and Agriculture Technology students' enrollment process is
slightly different. Your department will notify you when you
can use the PID Generation tool. If you have any questions,
contact your admissions office.
Faculty and StaffYour Banner HR representative must enter your information into the system. For further instructions, see the Employee PID Generation Procedure (http://www.it.vt.edu/organization/isc/irm/pidgeneration.html). After your information is in Banner, you may use the PID Creation Tool to complete the process. AlumsIf you graduated before 1977, your information is not in the system and will need to be entered. Call the University Registrar at (540) 231-6252 or send an e-mail message to registrar@vt.edu for further information. Guidelines for Choosing a PIDYou can choose any of the PIDs presented, or you can input a different PID. Remember, this is your PID for the duration of your affiliation with Virginia Tech, so choose wisely. A few things to keep in mind:
